Growing up, my grandfather always took me fishing and hunting. He taught me all the basics and made sure I had sound fundamentals on all aspects of hunting and fishing. Fast forward to 8 years old when I began competing with 4-H Shooting Sports. For 10 years I competed in both Archery and Small Bore Rifle. I qualified to shoot at state nearly every year for one or both disciplines. Once into high-school I was able to compete in Trap for both 4-H and my high school FFA. I was supported by CZ-USA and shot their Wingshooter 12ga. I traveled to state multiple times to compete in both doubles and singles. For the FFA seasons I placed top 5 in 3 seasons. After high school I was full flung to enlist into the United States Marine Corps. My recruiter was helping me fast track a way to sniper school. When MEPS denied me because of a fluke in medical history, I decided to go on with civilian life and not wait around. I finally am in a place and job now that allows me to compete on weekends, so with some help from family I'm back and gunning for the top again. NRL, NRL22, PRS Regional Rimfire, PRS Regional Centerfire, and MoST Series.
I have many family members and close friends who have served in the Armed Forces. Every year I try to give as much as possible back to the veteran community. Veterans have been overlooked and have not been given what they deserve for their sacrifice. If you choose to support my passion for competitive shooting, I pledge to give a minimum of 25% straight to charities that directly work to support our veterans. On top of that, I try to find matches that donate the proceeds to veteran organizations. The remaining funds will go to metallic reloading, match fees, and gear. This sport is expensive and every little thing helps! I'm not in this for the money, which is why I want to give remaining amounts to the people who gave their life for this country.
I believe in sportsmanship first. This sport and the people in it are wonderful. From match directors to the people behind the scenes, everyone does their part. I love to spend the time with new shooters and young guns who are wanting to make way in this sport. Everyone is welcome! While I am very competitive, I also want to support all the competitors as we strive to make this sport great, and continue to grow. I work every day to better myself and to better the game.
